Prayers for Sudan & from Sudan

Please pray for the C of I delegation on Sudan (see below).

Prayers for Sudan

Lord God Almighty,
King of Kings, Creator and Sustainer of all,
We cry to You for the people of Southern Sudan
As the completion of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement approaches.

Father, You know their hopes and fears,
You know the lack of organisation
For the Referendum,
You know the vested interests of some
And the weakness and simplicity of others,
You know the potential for violence,
And you know the hope in many hearts
For an established Christian society.

Move by the power of Your Spirit to bring Order, peace and justice to this land, That those who honour You May live and work to Your praise and glory.   Amen

God our Father,
whose son Jesus Christ wept over your people who knew not the way of peace,
and were as sheep without a shepherd,
hear our prayer for the people of the Sudan.
Turn the hearts of their leaders to reconciliation and peace.
Bless their Archbishop and clergy, that they may be true shepherds of your flock.
Strengthen those who heal the wounded and feed the hungry.
Hasten the time when all nations will own your just and gentle rule and receive your gift of peace, in Jesus Christ our Lord.   Amen.

Prayers from Sudan
Sudan as a nation yearns for peace, unity, strength and wisdom to be patient with each other, encourage each other, forgive and forget about the past and unanimously focus on the growth of the nation.    Amen

The people of Southern Sudan are tired of shedding blood, we are tired of looking over our shoulders, we are tired of losing our loved ones, we are tired of being the victims of injustice human violation and torture, we have said "enough is enough!". Let there be a system which is recognised as human friendly and also earth friendly.  Amen
