Evensong with Remembrance of New Zealand victims in mining tragedy


The Dean of Christ Church Cathedral, the Very Revd Dermot Dunne, has responded to a request from the New Zealand Ireland Association that the cathedral facilitate it in providing an opportunity for New Zealanders living in Ireland to come together in prayer in the wake of the loss of twenty-nine lives in the recent Pike River mining tragedy. Members of the Association and New Zealand diplomatic representatives will attend Evensong during which there will be an address and special prayers as an expression of solidarity with those affected by this tragedy.

Lisburn City Community Carol Service
Organised by Lisburn City Centre Ministers’ Fellowship (ministers from seven Lisburn city centre churches). The service of festive praise will feature Lisburn Ladies Harmony Choir, Wallace High School Choir and soloist Clara Costley. Tear Fund will be taking a street collection during the service at the Christmas tree in Market Square at 5pm.

Christ Church Cathedral - Dublin- Taizé Service
A special Taizé service will take place in the cathedral crypt and main nave on Sunday 12 December 2010 at 5.00pm. Organised by the Diocesan Ministry of Healing and the Diocesan Lay Ministry. Clogher Cathedral - Carol service
Diocesan service of Nine Lessons and Carols. 7.30pm
The service will be led by the Rt Revd Dr Michael Jackson, Bishop of Clogher, and the Very Revd Kenneth Hall, Dean of Clogher and Rector of Enniskillen. Taking part in the service will be a number of readers, choirs, soloists and instrumentalists from across the diocese. The organist will be Glenn Moore, and proceeds from the 
collection will go towards supporting the work of Kindfund and the Holy Land Medical Relief Fund.
