Public lectures - Church of Ireland Theological Institute - Dublin, 
Dr Alan Acheson will give a public lecture on ‘William Carleton and the Established Church’. At the same time in the same venue, Kieran Cronin, from Milltown Institute, will speak on ‘Ethics – the Christian tradition and human rights’. Arranged by the Dublin & Glendalough Theology Circle which welcomes all who are interested to their lectures.

St Werburgh’s Church - Dublin
The Irish Landmark Trust is to host a seminar onof St. Werburgh's Church. The day will commence in St. Werburgh's Church at 9.30am with a welcome from the vicar, the Ven. David Pierpoint, and a tour led by Paul Arnold Architects. Participants will then transfer to the Coach House at Dublin Castle, where speakers will address the history and context of the church, its current plight, and its future. The keynote address will be given by Eric Parry, of Eric Parry Architects in London - architects for the award-winning Renewal Project at St.Martin-in-the-Fields church. Advent Preparation Quiet Day - Dublin 
Christ Church Cathedral,10 am- 12pm. Repeated 2 - 4 pm. As part of the development of a spirituality programme at the cathedral, the day will explore prayer through walking in a labyrinth located in the south transept. Christmas Market & Santa -Crypt  Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin
Reviving a centuries old tradition of markets in the atmospheric eleventh-century
crypt, the first Christmas market where all sorts of exciting craft and Christmas goods will be on sale. Santa will be arriving in hiscarriage and will be taking up residence in his new grotto. Ticketsto visit Santa will be available on the day and prices begin at €15 for one childand one adult. Entrance to the Christmas market is included in admission to
the cathedral. 12.00. Anyone interested in having a stall at the market should contact

Dublin Symphony Orchestra Concert - Dublin
The Dublin Symphony Orchestra begins its Autumn season with a concert at Christ Church at 8.00pm which will pay tribute to Aloys Fleischmann in this the 100th anniversary year of his birth. Conducted by Fergus O'Carroll, and led by Aveen McEntee, the programme will include: Aloys Fleischmann 'Overture ‘The Four Masters’', Beethoven 'Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 73 ‘Emperor’' with Silvan Negrutiu as soloist, and Dvorak 'Symphony No. 8 in G major, Op. 88'. 40th anniversary St Andrew's Church Glencairn - Belfast Thanksgiving service to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone 10.30 a.m. Preacher: the Reverend Jim Rea, former President of the Methodist Church in Ireland and recently retired as Superintendent of the Agnes St Circuit, which includes Glencairn Methodist Church, which shares St Andrew’s.

Advent Procession - Dublin
Sung by the Christ Church cathedral choir and cathedral girls' choir,the candlelit Advent procession forms a dramatic turning point in the yearly liturgical cycle of the church. 5.00 pm Music at will include Boles 'Adam lay Y Bounden', Britten 'Hymn to the Virgin', Bruckner 'Virge Jesse', Goldschmidt 'A Tender Shoot', Manz 'E'en so Lord Jesus' and Praetorius 'Magnificat Quinti Toni'.
